Carolina Sound Machine started off 13 years ago. As a seventh grader, I started DJing my school dances with two standard home cd players (one single disc and the other a 5 disc changer), a set of speakers from the pawn shop, and a 3 channel mixer from RadioShack. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to get people dancing. My name was DJ Carat.
From there, I continued to DJ my school dances and build experience. Once in high school, it was time for me to look for a job. Instead of looking for your typical high school job, I looked through the phone book for disc jockeys around the area. Sound Technique caught my eye. They had a huge ad so I thought I would call and see if they needed any help. The owner, Keith Richardson, said he would give me a shot. It was like a tryout. The DJ gig went flawlessly, and Keith began hiring me for more gigs. Not only was I working a job I absolutely loved, I was also gaining valuable experience. Keith taught me the basics to being a DJ, how to treat your clients, how to act, etc. I worked for Keith for 8 years. He booked me for 10 year old birthday parties, high school proms/homecomings/sock hops, college dances, weddings, wedding anniversaries, and much more. I wouldn’t be the DJ I am today without all of the valuable experience I learned from Keith. Thanks Keith! I stopped working for Sound Technique when I moved away after college.
Now I have started my own DJ company named Carolina Sound Machine! My DJ name is DJ Whiteshadow.
Over the years I have gained valuable experience. I am sure I can make your next party memorable.
